About ISR
Infant Swimming Resource was founded in 1966 by Dr. Harvey Barnett.  The ISR Self-Rescue® instruction that students receive today is the product of over 45 years of research and achieves unparalleled results. ISR's mission of "not one more child drowns" is an ongoing goal as there are now over 450 instructors throughout the country. There have been over 8,000,000 ISR lessons given and over 800 reported lives saved! Lastly, ISR believes in a multil-layered drowning prevention, such as fences, supervision and alarms, but sometimes traditional lines of defense breakdown. Therefore, ISR’s core conviction is that the child is the most important part of a drowning prevention strategy and it has been proven and documented that 800 children have saved their own life after the ISR training.   ISR teaches the children skills to potentially save themselves if they find themselves in the water alone.
